Connection Performance

Actual user speeds will vary and are affected by various factors including the hardware and software used, number of devices, time of day, and where the data is coming from.

In order to get the best performance out of your Primo Fibre connection, we recommend;

A quality modem that is capable of supporting ultrafast speeds, such as the business grade ones provided by Primo for fibre connections.

A high-spec laptop or PC, running the latest operating system with all drivers up to date.

For optimum speeds cabling directly to your modem with an ethernet cable is better than Wi-Fi, which can have a large impact on speed.

The Equipment

All equipment supplied to you during the installation remains either the property of PrimoWireless Ltd or the Local Fibre Company (LFC).

Primo gear supplied may be pre-loved, this is our way to reduce, reuse and recycle.

The router supplied remains the property of Primo. Primo will manage the router, and configuration changes can only be performed by Primo.

Primo will supply a replacement if your router fails unless you are found to be at fault, in which case you will be charged for the replacement.

A $199 (excl GST) charge will be added to your final account if your router is not returned within 14 days should you choose to disconnect from Primo.

Connectivity across multiple sites

By using direct point to point links such as dark fibre and/or wireless to connect offices, sites and farm buildings, business can run one network in multiple locations. More advanced options like Layer 2 Tunneling or Layer 3 Fabric can be designed and implemented by our Network Engineers and tailored to your requirements.

Business connections also come with one free static IPv4 allowing for hosting of services such as email servers and VPN concentrators. Additional IP addresses are available to allow you to host more of these services.

Technical Support

We supply and manage business grade routers to improve connection management ensuring a consistent service experience for your business.

Business customers also receive priority technical support as well as access to our afterhours emergency fault service.

We are available by phone during our business hours; which are 9am – 5:30pm weekdays.

You can also contact us by email 24/7, 365 days a year.

We provide a free emergency business after hours calling service.  This service is only free to customers paying for business or corporate plans*.

Selecting this option on our 0800 123 774 phone service will direct you to an on call technician.

IF YOU ARE NOT A BUSINESS PLAN CUSTOMER AND CONTINUE WITH THIS OPTION YOU WILL BE CHARGED $99.

*For avoidance of any doubt, the emergency after hours calling service is not free to ‘businesses’ who pay for a residential plan.

A large portion of business is done online, so any downtime leads to lost sales, decreased productivity and damage to your reputation.  Loss of connectivity is a serious threat to your business.  The solution to a loss of connectivity is a backup up wireless connection.

Protect your business from expensive outages

Stay connected via phone and internet throughout outages

Remain open for business

Set up a remote site quickly or keep remote sites open during outages

Peace of mind for you, employees, and customers

The process is quite simple and straightforward.  Alongside your Fibre connection our own technicians will conduct a site survey to determine the best location for our equipment.  Ideally, this location is protected, yet accessible if needed, and has the best signal availability.  From there, the equipment is installed and plugged into a router that is configured to handle the failover.

So, if the fibre connection goes down, the wireless connection comes up on an as-needed basis.

And, if your fibre installation is delayed for any reason we can get you up and running over the wireless connection faster!

*Subject to signal testing and Primo’s wireless coverage area.  Install costs are based on line of sight to our current towers and additional setup costs may occur if a pole, or extra cable, etc is needed to raise the antenna to achieve line of sight.
