Roaming just works when you land.
You can call, TXT or use data in over 100 destinations across 70 countries – including Australia.
The Primo Endless Mobile plans, should allow you to use Daily Roaming, which is just like using your everyday plan but with a simple daily $9 charge.
Before heading overseas, make sure your phone’s operating system is updated to latest version and VoLTE roaming is turned on. Some older phones may not work on certain networks overseas.
On arrival overseas, when you switch on your phone, you’ll get a welcome TXT. It will tell you how much it costs to use your phone overseas, for example of your destination is covered by Daily Roaming, as well as some other useful information.
You can also use Wi-Fi Calling when overseas, connect to any available Wi-Fi network and turn on Wi-Fi Calling to be able to call and TXT as if you are still in NZ. You don’t need to turn on Roaming to use Wi-Fi Calling so you won’t be charged roaming rates however your minutes and TXTs used over WIFI Calling will come out of your mobile plan allowance. Eg if you call a NZ number using Wi-Fi Calling while roaming overseas, this will come out of your plan allowance. If you call a local number in the country you’re travelling in, you’ll be charged the standard cost of calling an international number, like you would at home. Note that calls will drop once you leave Wi-Fi coverage, and you will need to turn on Roaming to make a call.
If you are going by sea or air, its worth checking Maritime Roaming costs for cruises, or using in-flight roaming on the plane as they vary and are different from the standard roaming rates.
For other destinations, you will be charged per minute or per TXT at rates specific to that location. www.one.nz/roaming/
